The lecturer's union agreed to a 13% pay increase even though they rejected that a week ago. My university was set to start docking their pay by 30% tomorrow; a lot of tutors had to rush and get bank loans just so they could continue to pay their mortgages. This means I'll be getting my April essays back, and I won't have to worry about not graduating.

so far thinking about moving "The Falls" to be more central - tie in with notions of flight, persistent dreams of water (drowning, etc) and it's obsessions with language ("Riddley Walker", DeLillio's "The Names")
