Automatic band names

Years ago I remember Luke saying how he was drifting off to sleep and he thought of the greatest band name ever, so he wrote it down as not to forget it ... in the morning he woke up and had written down "VOD" and wondered why he thought that was a good name. (Forgive me if I mangled the story).

The same thing happened to me the other night... I woke up to find that I had thought the name "The key in the door in the key the key" was a good name. While I do like the double "the key" at the end, giving the whole phrase a lopsided, non-looping property, I think it might need some work before the first album comes out.

Dream 31 Jan 2006 / Super Bowl XL excitement

I was back in Pittsburgh for the Super Bowl. Everything was perfect. I was straightening up all of the books at my parents house, dusting the furniture, just making everything perfect. I was excited. Unfortunately, I worked for WPTS and I had to interview Led Zeppelin at 6:00.

It was just Page and Plant, but they were calling themselves Led Zeppelin again. I met with them on a picnic table outside of the William Pitt Union and tried to rush through the interview. They were very polite and friendly. They asked if Led Zeppelin could play live on WPTS that evening. I said "Yeah man, sure, but no one will listen because the Super Bowl kicks off in ten minutes. Can you just come back another time?"

I woke up from this dream, very very excited about the Super Bowl. I am very excited. Let me reiterate: I am very excited.

I'm having a party, even if it's just going to be three people. Details are on the website for the venue that I opened in my apartment: www.garriocharms.co.uk. It's strange how the UK has no culture of "house shows". Until now.

Dream 28 Oct 2005

Just woke up from this crazy dream. It was some sort of science fiction world where we no longer had literacy. Our spoken language still existed but we could not write it down. This was in the future, because books and print media existed, but it looked like jibberish, random letters, etc. I had some job guarding a schoolyard somehow, and I was working as part of an insane, evil, Brazil-like government.

The schoolchildren playing in recess looked really bizarre - like they were all washed out and flat, and I couldn't communicate to them beyond a few things they understood. Behind where I was there was this huge complex that was a government building. It was guarded by these weird fish-people that sorta looked like the scientist in Futurama. Maybe they were just regular people wearing masks. Either way, they were incredibly menacing, had uniforms and big guns, and they couldn't communicate beyond grunting.

Beyond this, the only thing I remember happening in the dream is being summoned down into the complex - I was allowed to go past the guard, and down an elevator where I met a government scientist who was actually Martin Mull. He said a bunch of stuff that I couldn't understand, and then took me over to this machine. The machine was on the ground, I had to squat in front of it. It had a bar that stuck out, and under that bar was some sort of lightfield. Martin Mull took a paperback book, opened it at random, and it looked like "sjdtsux sjook xusit4 xkkfed" to me, which was 'normal'. Then he passed it into the lightfield and it turned into English and I could understand it. He had a a few books and let me try it myself. I had this vision of seeing the children through this lightfield, and they became "normal".

He told me that what he had showed me was secret and he was trying to find a way to bring it to the masses without getting busted. He said we had to be careful, but he would call for me again. He led me up past the guards again.\

The second part of the dream was much more mundane. It was the present and I was talking to an attractive girl at a party.
