About
TEAMFORCE is a community of friends. This site is focused on providing its audience (mainly the group of friends and the random curious visitor) with one mashed up feed (or lifestream) collecting all of our interests together.
It also showcases some of TEAMFORCE’s projects, businesses, and affiliates. From music to crafts to politics to film to photography to obsessive fansites, we have a hand in it all. You have no idea.
Site History
In 2001, TEAMFORCE decided to start a cam site where each of us would have a webcam so that we’d be able to keep in touch with each other through this magnificent use of technology. I think the site even used to be hosted on Geocities.
The domain teamforcecams.org was registered on May 22, 2001.
Some of us were already blogging, so the idea of a community blog blossomed. We used several different blogging software including Greymatter, Movable Type, and Wordpress.
The domain teamforce.org was registered on December 2, 2003. Since the site no longer focused on the cams and for the sake of a shorter URL, the shorter domain name was more suitable. We kept both domain names until recently (2007), when we finally let the former one go.
Eventually the community blog died out, but several of us still maintained personal blogs. An aggregator home page was created to pull in feeds from all the various Wordpress, Blogspot, Vox, and other random blogs that we were all using.
In 2008, most of us are using all sorts of social networking services, communities, microblogs, and traditional blogs. The concept of “aggregator for aggregators” and the “lifestream” began to emerge. We decided to move to this method of RSS mashup and redesign the entire site while we were at it. We are using a modified version of Blog Oh! Blog’s WordPress Theme: Statement.
